SKI RESORT WEDDING IN SLC, UT

When Abby and Tanner reached out to us and told us they were having their wedding at the top of the ski lift at Solitude Mountain Resort, we were SO EXCITED to be a part of it all. Nothing beats a ski resort wedding with an epic view. All of the details of this wedding were perfectly planned and couldn’t have been more beautiful. Not to mention Lv FLoral created stunning floral arrangements and bouquets that fit the vibe perfectly! It was a dream come true to work with such amazing vendors.

Pre-Ceremony Moments

The Girls at the Air Bnb

We started the morning off with a bang in a beautiful air bnb in the SLC area. While Abby was getting her makeup done, her bridesmaids were hanging out in their matching robes and slippers. Everyone was happy and relaxed… it was about to be the best day ever. Before Abby put on her dress, we made sure to get some fun photos of all the girls hanging out on the couch in their robes. These were some of my favorite photos of the whole day! Once Abby put her dress on, we had a bridesmaids first look moment and TEARS WERE SHED! She truly had the best support crew standing by her on her wedding day.

The Boys in the Locker Room

We left the bridesmaids and drove to Solitude Mountain Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon; a beautiful venue with 360 views out ever window. The boys were given a locker room to get ready in and we were LOVING the flash vibes that came from it. The black suits against the mahogany wood lockers made for the classiest shots.

Tanner was so emotional all afternoon. He was so excited to watch his bride walk down the aisle, he just couldn’t keep his tears in! We took him outside to get a breath of fresh air and take some portraits of him before his big moment. Tanner was looking so dapper with his black bowtie!

The First Looks at The Resort

Abby wanted to have her first look moment with Tanner when she walked down the aisle… but it was important to have a first look with the other most important men in her life… her dad and brothers. It was heart-warming to see each of their faces when they turned around and saw their daughter/sister in her wedding dress. There wasn’t a dry eye on the room and it was so special to witness. 

The Ceremony

Next came the ceremony. The pinnacle of this ski resort wedding. We rode up the ski lift to the top of the mountain where a beautiful arch was set up. Can we just talk about how cool it was to ride a ski lift up to the ceremony spot?! Epic. Not only did everyone ride the lift to the ceremony… but each person in the precessional walked right off the ski lift and up the aisle, making for some FUN photos. 

When Abby’s chair on the lift came into the view of Tanner, they were both a puddle of tears. It melted our hearts to see them bawl their eyes out the whole walk up the aisle and throughout the entirety of the ceremony. They exchanged the sweetest vows, shared a kiss, and celebrated all in front of a beautiful mountain backdrop. 

Once family photos and formals were over, we hopped back on the ski lift to head to the dinner and reception. The workers allowed Jeff and I to ride on the chair in front of Abby and Tanner so we could get some shots of them celebrating on the chair ride down. Once we got close to the bottom, all of the guests on the balcony started to cheer for Abby and Tanner and they cheered right back on the lift. It was such a cute moment! 

The Cocktail Hour and Reception

Held Inside The Cozy Lodge

Tanner entered cocktail hour with Abby in true Tanner fashion… with his Pit Vipers on. It was a vibe and we loved it. Following a short cocktail hour they had the most beautiful dinner filled with mashed potatoes, yummy meat, and heartfelt speeches. They also had a little slideshow that showed pictures of Abby and Tanner when they were little! 

The reception events included the father daughter dance, mother son dance, and the couples first dance. Each dance had its moments of tears and smiles. After the couples first dance, Abby changed into her reception dress and they both rocked some custom High-top converse. What a cute touch!

The dance party was epic. The DJ (insert his name here) was a real crowd pleaser and even joined in on the party from time to time! Light sticks and bubbles were used to spice up the party and everyone had the best time. Abby and Tanner had an adorable bubble send-off to end the night! Bubble send-offs are always a fav for us ESPECIALLY with flash. The rainbow balls of light are so fun in the photos!!
